Hotel-Transportation and Class Schedule

Out of Town Students

As a special courtesy, we offer a free service to our students who travel from out of town to attend our classes. We offer to pick them up from
the FlyAway Bus Terminal at the Van Nuys Station and take them to the Extended Stay Hotel. Please let us know ahead of time if you want to be added to the pick-up list.

Here is what you will need to do: After your plane has landed at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and you have claimed your baggage, walk out the building and find Green Sign at the top of the platform. The sign reads:
FlyAway, Buses and Long Distance Vans (see pictures on the left).
Take the FlyAway bus to the Van Nuys Station. DO NOT take the Union Station or Inglewood buses. The bus fare is approximately $4.00 for a one-way trip, and you will be asked to pay the fare after you arrive at the Van Nuys Station.

As soon as you are on board the FlyAway bus, please call Daniel Budiman at
(818) 268-2377. We will pick you up from FlyAway station and take you to the Extended Stay hotel. There is no stop over, but it will take 45 minutes or longer, depending on the traffic, to travel from LAX to the hotel.

Local Students

We ask that all students come to class on time as each class session will start promptly at 9 AM. Please come to our class room located at:

Day Before the Class

All students traveling from out of town must arrive the day before the class.
7:00 PM is the latest pick-up from the FlyAway bus station to take students to the Extended Stay Hotel that CalJava can accommodate. If your flight arrives in Los Angeles after 5:30 PM, please make your own arrangements to get to the hotel.
Taxicabs are available outside of the FlyAway bus station and the fare is approximately $25-$35 to the Hotel.

Please Note: We no longer make the hotel reservations for our students, however, please let the Reservation Desk know that you are attending CalJava in order to get the best possible room rate. This hotel is located nearby many eateries and a large shopping mall is just a block away.

Day 1:
7:30 AM	School is open.
8:00 AM	Pick-up from the hotel for out of town students and breakfast is served.
9:00 AM	Class starts with Daniel Budiman for the Basic Rolled Fondant.
10:00 AM-10:30 AM	Class starts with Guest Instructor.
12:30 PM	Lunch is served.
1:00 PM	Session resumes.
5:00 PM-6:00 PM	Session ends for Day 1.
6:00 PM	Students are driven back to the hotel (or they may also walk).
6:15 PM	Optional Class with Daniel Budiman: How to design cakes with Computer Software (Wedding Cake Design Pro version 1.0).
Day 2:
7:30 AM	School is open.
8:00 AM	Pick-up from the hotel for out of town students (or they may also walk) and breakfast is served.
9:00 AM	Session begins.
12:30 PM	Lunch is served.
1:00 PM	Session resumes.
5:00 PM	Session ended for Day 2.
5:30 PM	Students are driven back to the hotel (or they may also walk). For a 2-day class, this is the end of session.
Day 3:
7:30 AM	School is open. Check out of hotel for those who are leaving after the class. Luggage will be stored at the CalJava administrative office.
8:00 AM	Pick-up from the hotel (Students may also walk) and breakfast is served.
9:00 AM	Session begins.
12:30 PM	Lunch is served.
1:00 PM	Session resumes.
5:00 PM	Session ended for Day 3.
5:30 PM	Students are driven back to the hotel or to the FlyAway bus station for those are flying home at this time.
Day 4:
	(The day after the class session has ended).
7:00 AM	First drop-off at the FlyAway bus station from the Extended Stay Hotel.
4:00 PM	Last pick-up from Extended Stay Hotel to FlyAway bus station.
	If your flights are outside this schedule, please make your own transportation arrangements.
